WHEN IN DUBAI
Where to go out in Dubai?
By Tina Kumar
Dubai is exotic, exciting and nothing short of anything really. Luxury exudes on every corner - it's quite amazing! Apart from the beaches, sand and sun there are a haunt of exciting places to take a peak at whilst in this beautiful city.
The infamous skyline can be viewed from various parts of the city with the iconic Burj al Arab and Burj Khalifa in sight as you travel across the city.
From the Palm to downtown DIFC, Dubai has some of the best restaurants, hotels and sites to experience.
SW1 explores some of the cities best places to go out in Dubai and here’s where you should be seen…
1. One and Only on The Palm
A One and Only property and one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to in the world.
This luxurious, pretty hotel, is unlike its counterparts on the Palm and the comfort and serenity felt here is quite incomparable to the other hotels in Dubai.
Whether you visit for a coffee, walk on the beach or a swim you can be promised to be taken care of here and experience the wonders of your dreams through this glorious hotel.
2. Iris Dubai
The Dubai skyline can be witnessed from this open plan outdoor bar/ club with views. One of the coolest places in Dubai where you can have a good time in a bit more of a casual clubbing scene perhaps before you head over to the White Dubai, a club in the clouds as I like to call it.
Only walking distance from Iris but the allure of Iris is nothing compared to White which is definitely more of a club than the stylish and a sophisticated scene seemingly administered in the ambience at Iris.
3. Jumeriah Beach Hotel
If you want to lie on the beach ad witness the beauty of Burj Al Arab from the comfort of a private beach. Jumeriah Beach Hotel is where you need to stay. Although you can stay at the neighbouring Jumeriah Al Naseem Hotel.
Jumeriah Hotel Beach is much closer to the iconic Burj Al Arab and I quite enjoyed myself here. I liked getting my insta pic standing on the beach in front of the magnificent Burj Al Arab. The view of Burj Al Arab from Jumeriah Beach Hotel is one I'd pay for any day.
The luscious beach, crystal blue pool and beautiful sunsets are to die for and if you don’t want to stay on The Palm, I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
4. ZUMA - DIFC
If you go to Dubai and don’t visit ZUMA you are missing out. The ambience of ZUMA compares to none of the other restaurants in DIFC (Dubai Financial District). Zuma's iconic potatoes dish and wondrous sushi are recommended for any visit. Don’t lose sight though because being at Zuma means you're night is just getting started!
Visits to Zuma for dinner mean you can head over to other incredible restaurants situated within walking distance in DIFC. Whether you head over to Cipriani after for the vanilla meringue cake and coffee.
Or take a walk into the forest like Shanghai Mei bar or go for drinks at Amazonico Dubai where they have a rooftop bar.
DIFC is the place to be seen!
Your evening in this part of town will not disappoint, if any thing it will make you want to come back again and again.
5. Atlantis The Palm
Again like the many other iconic places in Dubai, Atlantis is a gem and one of Dubai’s most precocious attractions.
Whether you choose to stay at the hotel on the edge of the Palm or visit Aquaventure, it’s fun water park. Or go for dinner at Nobu.
Atlantis is a must visit! The hotel has everything to offer and more. With a Starbucks on site and Cold Stone Creamery ice cream and some amazing designer boutiques you’ll want to witness the magic of this iconic hotel when visiting Dubai.
6. Atmosphere Burj Khalifa / Burj Khalifa
Burj Khalifa the tallest building in the world offering the most fabulous views across Dubai in its viewing platform and if you want to take things up to another level.
You’ll find you can enjoy a dining experience at Atmosphere on the 122rd floor of the Burj Khalifa which you can make entry to from to the exquisite Armani Hotel Dubai.
7. Burj Al Arab - Gold on 27
A magnificent Gold bar in the most iconic 7 star hotel in the world, Burj Al Arab.
This bar not only offers interesting drinks to enjoy but a view you can never forget. Twinkling lights of the city of Dubai seen from above.
Inside Burj Al arab it’s quite traditional but this bar offers a modern touch who’s beauty is certainly worth the visit inside this iconic hotel.
8. Jumeriah Al Naseem
Jumeriah Al Naseem is an incredible hotel, with luxurious rooms, the view of Burj Al Arab from its private beach and home to some of the best restaurants in Dubai.
I went to Katsuya and Il Borro where I had to eat in both restaurants in the same night! For me I couldn’t choose between the two for which one I favoured more fo dining in.
Katsuya is Japanese fusion and Il Borro, a majestic Italian with a rock salt fish like I never seen or eaten before.
The atmosphere in both these restaurants was impeccable and any other restaurant or bar on this property can equally be vouched for.
9. Cipriani/ Cipriani Socialista
Cipriani restaurant in Duabi is one of the bests and if you are lucky enough to get into Cipiriani Socialista sort of a bar/club you’ll find a very cosy atmosphere embraced with its Italian Essence that gives you a sophisticated and rewarding evening.
With impeccable service and delicious cuisine, along with a delightful side terrace and one hell of a lift. The Cipriani lift is where you want to get that insta pic for the Insta lovers out there.
Ciprirani Dubai is hot and I’m not just talking about the heat!
10. White Dubai
Like Iris, White Dubai offers a magnificent view of the Dubai Skyline but again the outdoor nature of the club, situated high above in the clouds is a huge venue that definitely takes clubbing to another level. Unlike the clubbing scene you experience on other holidays. White Dubai certainly has it’s Dubai stamp put on it to give you a night to remember.
With Dubai offering so many iconic hotels, locations and sights to see it’s hard to say which one I favour the most.
However, I find that I can’t leave Dubai without a visit to The Palm, DIFC and to either of the Burjs whenever I’m there so when you find time out of the beach club and lazy swimming pool vibes.
I would suggest you explore these sights if and when you can WHEN IN DUBAI.
