Tina Kumar
Founder and Editrix of SW1
Tina has always had a huge passion for writing and she wanted to create a magazine that is for young people in order to reflect the views of her peers. To be able to have a platform to read and discuss topics that young people want to know about and to reflect their views and perspectives.
Tina is from London, UK and draws huge inspiration for the city and so wanted to be able to share what she and so many living in London get from the city; in a fun and exciting way through SW1.
Having written her first book ‘Mystery of Mayfair at 15’ which is about how successful people to get to where they are. Tina felt SW1 would be to be an interesting way to really give young people the opportunity to engage with each other through the art of media and social media.
“The reason I wanted to create a British magazine for young people in 2021 in a time of a global pandemic and amidst the Black Lives Movement is so that young people can have a safe space to engage with.
We all have the same views and perspectives on worldly matters yet the media doesn’t always portray those in a way we feel heard. Amongst everything that’s happening in the world SW1 magazine aims to cover politics through the eyes of young people. To make our voices known to the world about the things we care about.
On the other hand, SW1 can be fun and light to take your mind off things you don’t want to think about. SW1 is about all things London, politics and fun. You will have the opportunity to learn and fill your days reading about interesting topics on arts, music, books, lifestyle, politics, culture, travel, fashion, beauty and much more.
I hope you enjoy reading SW1 magazine as much as I enjoy creating it for you.” Tina Kumar, Founder and Editor of SW1 Magazine London.
